Baby boom

July 18, 2012

Every time I hear a baby cry I feel despair. And all the sorrow of life floods in. The propagators of life perpetuate death and suffering. If babies were born into the past and the past were the future, would the enlightened continue to breed?

Or imagine being born in Germany or Russia in 1900 – or Ethiopia in the 1980s. Would you think it a good thing? Discuss. Is it crazy to assume the future holds similar horrors. Nothing has changed. Morally, the human race has not moved forward – all advances are superficial – Look to the Balkans for your image of the probable future… Am I wrong?
